Blingo Gala 2021 (PAST EVENT)

The Spanish Speaking Community of MD Inc. (SSCM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is committed to the removal of systemic barriers. It primarily does so by offering proactive solutions and affordable legal options to address families with immigratiion needs within Frederick County’s growing international community.

We hope that you and/or your company or organization will support our work by sponsoring our 2nd Annual Blingo Gala at Dutch’s Daughter on November 5, 2021. SSCM has proven to be a lifeline for Frederick County residents suffering from severe hardships.  During the 2020 pandemic alone, our team has provided more than 3,000 Frederick County residents with essential items including food, diapers, toiletries, backpacks, school supplies and gift cards. We continued to work closely with local organizations including the Frederick county Child Advocacy Center, Blessings in a Backpack, and Frederick County Department of Social Services to mitigate the devastating effects of the pandemic in our community.

Our team has helped many Frederick County families apply for unemployment or seek out new employment opportunities, which in turn has reduced their family financial challenges, stress and the possibility of physical abuse that often results from such conditions. In addition, the Frederick County Government has called upon SSCM to translate official health and COVID-19 testing messages to Spanish so that they are delivered to the Spanish speaking residents through printed materials, the county’s website and social media.  SSCM has also provided COVID-19 related translations for the City of Frederick’s communications department, and rental assistance related translations for the Religious Coalition. Your help is needed to continue our work in the community that is so needed.

EACH TICKET INCLUDES: 10 Blingo games, appetizers & 2 drinks. 21 yrs, w/ID, will receive 2 complimentary alcoholic beverage tickets. 18 yrs old will receive 2 non-alcoholic beverage tickets. MUST BE 18 TO PLAY & 21 w/ID to consume or purchase alcoholic beverages from cash bar.
